A creative visual storyteller, I graduated from the MFA program at California College of the Arts in San Francisco, CA. Skilled in narratives and visual storytelling, I blend comics, illustration, and speculative design to inspire fresh perspectives. Through digital and traditional media, my works encourage reflection on society, not with criticism but humour—prompting audiences to consider deeper, layered narratives.

These panels of comics indicate the ironic points about our lives and human society. By humorously tweaking them, they offer audiences new perspectives on the topic.

As an artist, I am captivated by the evocative power of colour and its profound impact on the viewer’s perception. Whether mounted on walls or standing alone, my sculptures are characterized by vibrant, stratified colours, offering clarity from a distance yet provoking intrigue up close. I approach each piece with a spirit of exploration, pushing the boundaries of conventional sculpting techniques.

My sculptures are a culmination of three decades of experience in product design, which I leverage to transform 2D images into compelling 3D forms. I am fascinated by the reinterpretation of light and shadow from these images, imbuing my sculptures with depth and dimensionality. Employing a diverse array of moulding techniques and materials, I draw inspiration from the artisanship of others and the natural world.

Through my art, I aspire to spark a fresh perspective in viewers. I seek to bridge the gap between my sculptures and their personal experiences, inviting them to discover their vantage point for interpreting my creations.

Gabiko IoMo

ArtTreasury 2025 featured artist.

I believe art is essential for humanity: witness of changes, it punctuates the epochs. It always captivated me and I practiced it in one form or another, but I began to be interested by digital painting after I’ve discovered fractals—the beauty made by a machine. Hurrying to try a different mode of expression, I invented computer graphics and, since then, I do everything in my own way. Thus, my technique and style are unique and my equipment is deliberately limited.

I consider that in my creations there is 25% talent, 25% artistic sense, and 25% meticulous effort. The remaining 25% is boldness.

I work tirelessly—everything can become a source of inspiration—and I am constantly experimenting. I play with volumes and lights, balancing forms and harmonizing hues.

My paintings are composed with frank, exuberant colours on black background, but the tones are serene. Strong, sometimes hyperbolic, always honest, they have—quite often—a touch of irony. The viewer must deeply investigate them to discover—behind the ornamental—the true meaning of each title.

You may like my art or not, but it will not go unnoticed.
