Since retiring from a busy professional career, I have come to appreciate and express the artist that lay latent until now. It is immensely satisfying to have the time to realize my design ideas, investigations, and interpretations. I find my inspiration in places such as landscapes, architectural forms, my travels, and thoughts. My art is a result of a careful observation of the subjects and my personal expression of what I see and feel. I am always experimenting with light, colour, form, and texture. I enjoy people’s comments when viewing my artwork because everyone experiences it in his own way.
About My Work
When doing realistic paintings, I try to keep the realism of the situation intact but the colours and the design in the picture may appear different in my painting.
The inspiration for my abstract work mostly comes from my inner personal thoughts and feelings. Feelings that have been evoked by emotions and situations. Colour, form, values, and shapes play a major part in my paintings. They help me to express an emotion and/or thought. This way my painting communicates to the viewers. Most of the time I already see the painting in my mind before I put it on the canvas.
